North Woods
Great Lakes wilderness
The North Woods refers to the vast forested regions of the northern United States and Canada, particularly the coniferous and mixed forests stretching across Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and into Canada.
The term evokes wilderness, logging history, and outdoor recreation: We spent a week at a cabin in the North Woods.
