Clara Barton

Clara Barton was an American nurse and humanitarian who founded the American Red Cross in 1881.

She earned the nickname "Angel of the Battlefield" for her work tending wounded soldiers during the Civil War, often arriving at front lines with medical supplies when official channels failed.

Her advocacy established the organization that still provides disaster relief today.
