Messiah
Anointed one prophesied
The Messiah is the promised deliverer in Jewish tradition, expected to restore Israel and bring peace.
Christians apply the title to Jesus of Nazareth, whom they believe fulfilled these prophecies.
In Islam, Jesus is also recognized as the Messiah.
Handel's Messiah is the famous oratorio celebrating Christ's life. (Lowercase messiah is a general term for any savior figure.)
