antichrist
Denier of divinity
An antichrist is anyone who opposes or denies Christ, or a false claimant to Christ's role.
The term appears in the New Testament epistles of John, warning of deceivers who deny Jesus.
In general use, antichrist can describe any powerful opponent of Christianity or someone seen as embodying evil: Critics called the dictator an antichrist. (Capitalized Antichrist refers to the specific prophesied figure.)
