The Chosen
The specially picked
The Chosen is a term for people believed to be specially selected by God or destiny, often referring to the Jewish people as God's chosen nation in biblical tradition.
More broadly, it describes any group or individual singled out for a special purpose or favor: He acted like he was one of the chosen.
The phrase carries connotations of divine election, exclusivity, or sometimes ironic self-importance. *The Chosen* is also the title of Chaim Potok's 1967 novel about Jewish identity and a popular television series depicting the life of Jesus.
