LGBTQIA
Sexual orientation acronym
LGBTQIA is an acronym for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (or questioning), intersex, and asexual (or allied).
It serves as an umbrella term for sexual and gender minorities: LGBTQIA rights, the LGBTQIA community.
The acronym has expanded over time from earlier forms like LGBT and LGBTQ, with variations continuing to evolve.
Sometimes a plus sign is added to signal further inclusivity: LGBTQIA+.
