LGBTQIA+
Sexual minority coalition
LGBTQIA+ is an acronym for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (or questioning), intersex, asexual (or allied), with the plus sign encompassing additional identities.
The term serves as an umbrella for people whose sexual orientation or gender identity falls outside heterosexual and cisgender norms.
Earlier forms like LGBT or LGBTQ remain common; the longer version signals broader inclusion.
The LGBTQIA+ community celebrated the court ruling.
