Indo-China

Colonial Asian region

Indo-China is the southeastern peninsula of Asia comprising Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, and the Malay Peninsula—the region between India and China.

More narrowly, it refers to French Indochina: the former colonial territories of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.

The hyphenated spelling emphasizes the geographic position; Indochina is more common today.
