Argos

Greek retail chain

Argos is a city in the northeastern Peloponnese of Greece, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world.

In Greek mythology, Argos was a powerful kingdom ruled by Agamemnon, leader of the Greek forces in the Trojan War.

The term Argive, meaning "of Argos," became synonymous with Greek in Homeric poetry.

Separately, Argos is a major British retail chain known for its catalog-based shopping model. (Lowercase argos is rare outside these proper uses.)
