George R. R. Martin
George R.
R.
Martin is an American author best known for *A Song of Ice and Fire*, the fantasy series adapted as HBO's *Game of Thrones*.
His name has become shorthand for sprawling epic fantasy with morally complex characters, brutal plot twists, and—among impatient fans—notoriously slow writing pace: He's the George R. R. Martin of video game developers.
