Terry Pratchett

Terry Pratchett was a British author best known for the Discworld series—over forty comic fantasy novels set on a flat world carried through space on the backs of four elephants standing on a giant turtle.

His work combined satirical wit with genuine philosophical depth, skewering everything from religion to journalism to academia.

Pratchett was knighted in 2009 and died in 2015 after publicly documenting his struggle with early-onset Alzheimer's disease.
