Ernest Hemingway
Ernest Hemingway was an American novelist and journalist whose spare, declarative prose style transformed 20th-century fiction.
His major works include *The Sun Also Rises*, *A Farewell to Arms*, and *The Old Man and the Sea*, which won the Pulitzer Prize.
He received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1954.
Hemingway cultivated a public image of rugged masculinity—bullfighting, big-game hunting, deep-sea fishing—that became inseparable from his literary reputation.
His name evokes a particular aesthetic: short sentences, understated emotion, masculine stoicism.
That's very Hemingway.
