Florida Panhandle

Gulf Coast peninsula strip

The Florida Panhandle is the narrow northwestern strip of Florida that extends westward along the Gulf of Mexico, bordered by Alabama and Georgia.

The name comes from its shape—a handle protruding from the state's main body.

The region includes Pensacola, Tallahassee, and Panama City: We're driving through the Panhandle to get to New Orleans.
