spring break

College beach week

Spring break is a vacation period, typically lasting one to two weeks, built into the academic calendar of American schools and universities during the spring semester.

It usually falls in March or April and has become associated with college students traveling to warm destinations for partying and relaxation.

We're heading to Cancún for spring break.

The term can also refer more generally to any springtime school vacation, including the more family-oriented breaks that younger students take.
