snowbirds

Seasonal warmth seekers

Snowbirds are people who migrate seasonally from cold northern regions to warmer southern climates, typically retirees who spend winters in places like Florida or Arizona: The snowbirds arrive in October and leave after Easter.

The term derives from the birds that migrate similarly.

In Canada, snowbirds also refers to the Canadian Forces aerobatic team.
