Fort Lauderdale

Broward County seat

Fort Lauderdale is a city on Florida's southeastern coast, north of Miami.

Known for its beaches and extensive canal system, it became famous in the mid-20th century as a spring break destination for college students.

The city has since evolved into a major cruise port and yachting center: We flew into Fort Lauderdale and drove down to the Keys.
