Douglas fir

Tall Northwest timber

Douglas fir is a large evergreen conifer native to western North America, prized for its strong, straight-grained timber used extensively in construction and plywood.

Despite its name, it is not a true fir but belongs to its own genus.

These trees can grow over 300 feet tall and live for centuries, making them among the tallest and longest-lived trees in North America.

The cabin was framed entirely in Douglas fir.
