Douglas firs
Tall Northwest conifers
Douglas firs are large evergreen conifers native to western North America, prized for timber and as Christmas trees.
Despite the name, they aren't true firs—they belong to their own genus.
The trees can grow over 300 feet tall, making them among the tallest in the world.
The cabin was built from Douglas fir.
