Scotch pine
Needled timber tree
Scotch pine is a coniferous evergreen native to Europe and Asia, widely planted for timber, landscaping, and Christmas trees.
It has distinctive orange-red bark on upper branches and twisted blue-green needles in pairs.
The species tolerates poor soils and cold climates: The Scotch pines along the driveway were planted fifty years ago.
