Coraline

Coraline is a female given name, a variant of Coralie or Caroline.

It gained recognition from Neil Gaiman's 2002 novella *Coraline*, which was adapted into a stop-motion animated film in 2009.

The story follows a young girl who discovers a parallel world behind a secret door, giving the name associations with curiosity, bravery, and the uncanny.

We named our daughter Coraline after the book.
