plasticine
Soft sculpting material
Plasticine is a soft, pliable modeling material that doesn't harden or dry out, used especially by children and for animation models.
Unlike clay, it remains workable indefinitely: The kids spent hours shaping plasticine animals.
The word derives from the brand name but is now used generically for any similar non-drying modeling compound. (Capitalized Plasticine is the trademark.)
