Cesar Chavez

Cesar Chavez (1927–1993) was an American labor leader and civil rights activist who co-founded the United Farm Workers union.

He organized migrant farmworkers, primarily Latino, to demand better wages and working conditions through strikes and boycotts.

His grape boycott of the 1960s and 70s became a national movement.

Chavez is commemorated with a federal holiday in several U.S. states.
