Canadianisms
Maple country slang
Canadianisms are words, phrases, or usages distinctive to Canadian English.
Some are borrowings from French (poutine, dépanneur) or Indigenous languages (mukluk).
Others arose from Canadian life: toque for a knit cap, loonie for the dollar coin, double-double for coffee with two creams and two sugars.
Eh, appended to sentences for emphasis or confirmation, is perhaps the most recognized Canadianism.
