CLOCK
Circadian rhythm regulator
A clock is a device that measures and displays time.
Clocks appear on walls, nightstands, phones, and computers.
Beyond timekeeping devices, clock extends to any mechanism that tracks intervals: a shot clock in basketball, a biological clock governing bodily rhythms.
To clock something is to time it or to notice it: I clocked her at six minutes flat, Did you clock what she was wearing?
To clock in and clock out is to record arrival and departure at work.
In slang, to clock someone can mean to hit them or, in LGBTQ contexts, to recognize someone as transgender.
