unassimilated
Still standing apart
Unassimilated describes something that has not been absorbed, integrated, or made part of a larger whole.
The term appears most often in discussions of immigration and cultural identity, where unassimilated populations or communities have not adopted the customs, language, or values of the dominant culture: unassimilated immigrants faced discrimination.
In biology, unassimilated nutrients are those that pass through the body without being absorbed.
The word can also describe ideas or information that someone has encountered but not yet fully processed or incorporated into their understanding.
