Muhammad Ali
Floated and stung
Muhammad Ali was an American boxer, born Cassius Clay, who became heavyweight champion three times and is widely considered the greatest of all time.
He changed his name after converting to Islam in 1964.
Known for his quick footwork, rapid jabs, and self-promotional style—Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee—Ali was also prominent for refusing military service during the Vietnam War on religious grounds, a stance that cost him his title and years of his career.
He's the Muhammad Ali of chess uses his name to mean the undisputed best in any field.
