antagonists
Those who oppose
Antagonists are those who oppose or work against someone or something.
In storytelling, the antagonist opposes the protagonist—the villain, rival, or obstacle the hero must overcome: The best antagonists have compelling motivations.
In physiology, antagonist muscles work in opposition to others: the biceps and triceps are antagonists.
In pharmacology, an antagonist blocks a receptor's response to a substance.
