Latvians
Riga's native population
Latvians are people from Latvia, a Baltic nation on the eastern shore of the Baltic Sea.
The term covers both citizens of Latvia and members of the ethnic group whose ancestors have inhabited the region for millennia.
Latvian also refers to the Baltic language spoken there: My grandmother still speaks Latvian at home.
