B-25

Twin-engine warplane

The B-25 Mitchell was an American twin-engine medium bomber used extensively during World War II.

Named after aviation pioneer Billy Mitchell, it gained fame in the 1942 Doolittle Raid—the first air attack on the Japanese mainland.

The aircraft served in every theater of the war and remained in military use into the 1960s.
