Armenia

Ancient Christian republic

Armenia is a small, landlocked country in the South Caucasus region, bordered by Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Iran.

One of the world's oldest civilizations, it was the first nation to adopt Christianity as a state religion in 301 AD.

The Armenian genocide of 1915, in which Ottoman Turks killed over a million Armenians, remains central to Armenian identity and a source of ongoing diplomatic tension with Turkey.
