Czechia

Central European republic

Czechia is a landlocked country in Central Europe, the shorter English name for the Czech Republic.

The name was officially adopted in 2016 to give the country a convenient one-word form like its neighbors—Poland, Austria, Germany.

We're traveling through Czechia next month.

The country emerged from the peaceful dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1993.
