Ararat
Dormant Armenian volcano
Ararat is a volcanic mountain in eastern Turkey near the Armenian border, traditionally identified as the resting place of Noah's Ark after the biblical flood.
At over 16,000 feet, it is Turkey's highest peak and holds deep significance in Armenian culture, appearing on Armenia's national emblem despite lying outside its borders.
The mountain's snow-capped twin peaks dominate the landscape and have inspired expeditions seeking remnants of the Ark.
