x-intercepts

Where curves land

X-intercepts are the points where a graph crosses the horizontal axis—where y equals zero.

A line may have one x-intercept, a parabola may have two, one, or none.

Finding x-intercepts means solving an equation for x when y is set to zero: The x-intercepts of the parabola are at -3 and 5.
