woodie

Surfer's classic car

A woodie is a station wagon with exterior wood paneling, especially the classic American models from the 1930s through 1950s: They drove their restored woodie to the beach.

The term evokes surf culture and nostalgia.

Also spelled woody.

Separately, woodie is an informal spelling of woody, slang for an erection.
