whitewall
Vintage car tire
A whitewall is a tire with a white stripe or band on its sidewall, once standard on American automobiles and now a nostalgic styling choice: The classic Cadillac had gleaming whitewalls.
As an adjective, whitewall describes a close-cropped men's haircut shaved very short on the sides, exposing pale scalp that resembles the tire's white band.
