wheelchair rugby
Full-contact quad sport
Wheelchair rugby is a full-contact team sport for athletes with disabilities affecting their limbs, played on a basketball court with a volleyball.
Players in manual wheelchairs attempt to carry the ball across the opposing goal line while colliding with opponents to block or dislodge possession.
Originally called murderball for its aggressive play, it was developed in Canada in the 1970s for quadriplegic athletes.
