duathlon

Run-cycle-run race

A duathlon is an endurance race combining two disciplines, typically running and cycling.

The standard format is run-bike-run: athletes run a set distance, cycle a longer segment, then finish with another run.

Unlike a triathlon, which includes swimming, a duathlon stays on land: She switched from triathlons to duathlons after a shoulder injury.
