vitreous humor

Eyeball's inner jelly

The vitreous humor is the clear, gel-like substance that fills the space between the lens and the retina in the eye.

It helps maintain the eye's spherical shape and allows light to pass through to the retina.

Also called the vitreous body or simply the vitreous.
