Padded launching platform
A vaulting horse is a padded gymnastics apparatus used for jumping exercises.
The gymnast runs toward it, springs off a springboard, and vaults over or onto it, using hands for support.
In traditional form it resembles a leather-covered horse body without head or legs.
Also called a vault or pommel horse, though the pommel horse has handles and serves different exercises.
