vaulter
Airborne bar-clearer
A vaulter is someone who vaults—that is, leaps over something, typically using the hands or a pole for support.
The term most commonly refers to pole vaulters, athletes who use a long flexible pole to propel themselves over a high bar in track and field competitions.
Gymnasts who perform vaults are also vaulters, as are equestrians who leap onto or over horses.
