varicose vein
Swollen leg vessel
A varicose vein is a blood vessel that has become swollen, twisted, and visibly bulging beneath the skin, most commonly in the legs.
Varicose veins develop when valves inside the veins weaken, allowing blood to pool rather than flow efficiently back to the heart.
They often appear as dark blue or purple cords and may cause aching, heaviness, or cosmetic concern.
