ropy
Thick and fibrous
Ropy describes something that forms long, viscous strands—like syrup that's thickened too much or mucus during a bad cold: The sauce had gone ropy and unusable.
In British English, ropy (also ropey) means poor in quality or slightly unwell: I'm feeling a bit ropy this morning.
The American equivalent for that sense is usually "rough" or "off."
