Swiveling circular base
A turnplate is a rotating platform, typically a circular metal plate that allows something heavy to be turned.
In railways, a turnplate (or turntable) rotates locomotives to face the opposite direction.
In machinery and industrial settings, turnplates enable pivoting of equipment or loads: The crane's turnplate allows 360-degree rotation.
