turn over
Flip to reverse
To turn over is to flip something so the other side faces up: Turn over the pancakes when bubbles form.
You turn over in bed, turn over a new leaf (make a fresh start), or turn something over in your mind (consider it carefully).
In business, to turn over inventory or money is to cycle it through sales.
A turnover is the rate of such cycling, or a pastry folded over its filling.
To turn something over to someone is to hand it to them or transfer control: She turned the documents over to investigators.
