convey
Get the message across
The verb convey is somewhat formal and overlaps partly with the meanings of two much more common verbs: carry and send.
If you convey a message to someone, you take it to them; but if you say that a painting conveys a message of tranquility, you mean that you feel tranquil when looking at the painting.
In law, the meaning of convey is closer to transfer: when someone conveys property to another, ownership changes hands.
