triceps brachii

Upper arm muscle

Triceps brachii is the formal anatomical name for the large muscle at the back of the upper arm, commonly called simply the triceps.

The Latin name means "three-headed muscle of the arm," describing its three attachment points at the shoulder and elbow.

This muscle straightens the arm at the elbow and is the antagonist to the biceps.

My triceps brachii are sore from all those pushups.
