tip-in

Nudged-in second chance

A tip-in is a basketball shot where a player redirects a missed shot into the basket, typically while the ball is near the rim: He grabbed the rebound and got the tip-in.

In bookbinding, a tip-in is a page or illustration glued to an existing page rather than bound into the spine—common for adding plates to books after printing.
