post up
Plant yourself firmly
Post up means to position yourself and stay in one place, often visibly or assertively.
From basketball, where a player posts up by establishing position near the basket with their back to the defender: He posted up in the paint.
More broadly, it means to station yourself somewhere: I'll post up at the bar, She posted up outside his apartment for hours.
On social media, to post up can mean to share content publicly, especially photos showing off: He posted up his new car on Instagram.
