post moves
Back-to-basket techniques
Post moves are offensive basketball techniques performed with your back to the basket, typically in the low post area near the hoop.
A player establishes position, receives the ball, then uses footwork, fakes, and body positioning to create scoring opportunities: Shaq dominated with his post moves, She worked on her post moves all summer.
The term sometimes extends metaphorically to any skillful maneuvering from a position of strength.
