set shot
Grounded court attempt
A set shot is a basketball shot taken with both feet planted on the floor, as opposed to a jump shot.
It was the standard shooting technique before the jump shot became dominant in the mid-20th century.
Set shots are still used for free throws and by some players for long-range attempts: He knocked down a set shot from the corner.
